Binky Waterlily
Binky is an absolutely charming miniature waterlily dahlia covered in delicate white blooms dramatically tipped and brushed with brilliant raspberry-pink. Its petite flowers have the graceful, slightly cupped petals characteristic of the waterlily form, creating a cheerful pop of color without overwhelming the garden. Unlike many towering dahlia varieties, Binky stays wonderfully compact and develops into a bushy plant loaded with blooms throughout the season.

A Bit of History
Binky is an older dahlia variety introduced in 1980 and associated with Swan Island Dahlias. Decades after its introduction, it remains loved for its unusual combination of compact growth, prolific blooming habit, and distinctive white-and-pink flowers.
Its petite stature is one of Binky's most notable characteristics. Plants typically remain around 2 to 2½ feet tall and develop into a low, bushy mound covered with flowers. This makes Binky particularly useful for gardeners who want the beauty of dahlias but don't necessarily have room for the 4- to 6-foot plants produced by many traditional varieties.
Ideal For
- Containers and smaller garden spaces
- Front borders and flower beds
- Petite bouquets and arrangements
- Cutting gardens where compact plants are desired
Pairs Well With
Binky pairs beautifully with Sweet Nathalie for a romantic pink-and-white palette, Karma Maarten Zwaan for additional crisp white tones, or a deeper raspberry or burgundy dahlia for dramatic contrast. Its compact growth also makes it wonderful planted toward the front of taller dahlia varieties.
