Hollyhill Pink Martini was hybridized by Ted and Margaret Kennedy of Hollyhill Dahlias in Oregon. It was entered in American Dahlia Society trial gardens in 2014 and received qualifying scores at two trial gardens.

The variety has become particularly appreciated for floral design.
