A Bit of History

Miss Delilah was introduced in 2002 and originated in the United States. It is attributed to hybridizer Nick Gitts and has become a longtime favorite among dahlia growers for its distinctive coloring, excellent productivity, and beautiful waterlily-shaped flowers.

Interestingly, Miss Delilah was originally classified as an informal decorative dahlia before later being reclassified as a Waterlily. Its coloring can also vary considerably with growing conditions. Some plants produce brilliant hot-pink flowers fading toward white, while others take on softer orchid, lavender-pink, or purple tones. This natural variation is part of what makes Miss Delilah such an interesting variety to grow.
